INFO: 3400 positions (each file 100) which were primarily taken from actual played games. Each of the tactical combinations was either played on the board in an actual match or could have been played as a different variation.

Originally Auerswald created these examples as "exercises" and tried to always enter the main variation of the combination, even if the player did not play the strongest defense. Or the containing combination was not found in the real game, respectively. In those games he wrote "Variante" or "Partievariante" (variation of game) into the "Event" tag. However, more than 90% of the moves are authentical, but basically only the starting position occurred in the game and the variation/solution could be different sometimes.

The solutions are found at the end of each file. It is White to move unless the game name is underlined, then it is Black to move.
